Multistage Centrifugal Blower, as the name implies, comes in multiple stages ranging from one (1) stage to a combination of stages. One stage of a multistage centrifugal blower is generally made of:

an intake duct conveying the gas to the impeller inlet, which shares the same axis as the shaft;
a closed impeller with axial flow inlet and radial flow exit;
a radial diffuser, whose aim is to convert kinetic energy into static pressure at the impeller exit, and a discharge volute.

The centrifugal blower housing consists of an inlet head with a unique feature to direct air to   the inlet of the first impeller and an outlet head of a unique design to eliminate friction and multiple   intermediate sections.

These parts are made in cast aluminum according to rigid   Continental Industrie specifications, extreme care is to be exercised in the assembly of   interlocking cast aluminum intermediate sections and annular diffusers (baffles).   The entire assembly is securely held together actually with multiple tension rods which bind   the entire housing into a solid integral unit.
